Since Israel’s bombardment began on 7 October 2023, the escalation of violence over the past 15 months has resulted in unimaginable suffering. More than 45,000 Palestinians have lost their lives — including over 17,000 children and 12,300 women. An additional 11,100 have been injured, while 11,200 people remain missing, 70% of whom are women and children.

Among the dead are 205 journalists, 1,068 healthcare workers, and 99 civil defense workers — individuals who risked their lives to protect and serve their communities. The humanitarian crisis deepens as 44 people have tragically died from hunger and malnutrition.

Despite the ceasefire that took effect on 19 January 2025, the violence has not fully ceased. In the days following, over 160 Palestinians were recovered from under the rubble — a grim reminder that the suffering in Gaza endures even after the bombs stop falling.
