Short Story

Since October 2023, nearly 40,000 children in Gaza have been orphaned due to relentless bombardment. Families have been torn apart and entire communities destroyed. Many children are now living in overcrowded shelters without consistent access to food, healthcare or education.

Islamic Relief is currently supporting over 21,000 orphaned children, but more than 7,000 are still waiting for sponsorship.

For R14,400, you can sponsor a child in Gaza for an entire year. Sponsorship provides:

Nutritious food
Emergency shelter items
Healthcare and medical support
Clothing, blankets and hygiene essentials
Emotional and psychological care
Access to education whenever possible

Campaign Story

The Cake Dealer is raising funds with Islamic Relief because I believe we have a responsibility to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves. As part of the Islamic Relief family, I have seen the impact this organisation has across the world — providing hope, dignity and real support to vulnerable communities.

Right now, thousands of orphaned children in Gaza are living through unimaginable hardship. They have lost their parents, their homes and their sense of safety. I cannot change everything, but I can do something. Through this campaign, I am trying to be a means of hope for a child who has lost almost everything.
